Comments: Hey everyone!  It's Miriah here.  I'm bringing something different to the table than I usually do.  I guess I can still call it foreign because this band is from the Netherlands. Anyway!  I came across this song on iHeartRadio today and thought the song was great.  This band is new to me and I'm going to start listening to more of their things.  Once I've nailed the lyrics to this song I can guarantee I'll be singing it.  While watching the video, I recommend paying attention at around 3:40 because there is an awesome guitar interlude.  Anyhow, please take a listen and enjoy!

Comments: Hey all! Amanda here! Rather than go looking for new music for today's post I went back through some of the older stuff  I own but haven't listened to in quite some time. Chris introduced me to Within Temptation when I was going through a difficult period awhile back and now they're honestly one of my favorite symphonic metal bands. "Memories" comes off their third album The Silent Force and is decidedly one of Within Temptation's slower, more somber songs but as always the wonderful  Sharon den Adel sings it beautifully. The combination of her vocals and seeing the music video made me fall in love with this song and the band all over again. Both are excellent in my opinion.Enjoy!

Comments: Sorry for the lack of a post yesterday, folks. To make it up to you all, two songs today! The first one is by Nightwish featuring their original vocalist, Tarja Turunen, who sounds nothing like this their new vocalist (Anette Olzon). (I mention this because the debate over the comparative merits of the vocalists regularly ignites youtube comment threads into flame wars, and is quite heated.) I have heard this song described in terms similar to a very good movie soundtrack. Go listen!

Comments: And after you listen to that song, take a listen to this one. Slightly less cinematic, this song has (if I hear this correctly) a full orchestra and chorus behind the metallic instrumentation. This song blew me away when I heard it-- hopefully it will rock your world too.

Comments: I love this song. It might be that I'm a sucker for the combo of operatic-style lyrics over crazy metal instrumentation, or maybe that I just like the sound, but whatever the reason, I love this song, and hopefully you will too.
